How DHI works

DHI is the Direct Hair Implantation form of FUE. Each follicle is implanted directly with specialised implanter pens, for control over the depth, angle and direction of every hair.

1. Personal consultation

Your free consultation, in clinic or online, sets out a personalised treatment plan and your graft count.

2. Hairline design

Your hairline is planned around your facial features, age, ethnicity and future hair loss pattern.

3. Graft collection

Grafts are taken one at a time with ultra-fine micro-punch instruments from the back and sides of the scalp, so there is no linear scar.

4. Implantation

Each follicle is placed directly with the implanter pens, under needle-free anaesthesia. Oral or intravenous (IV) sedation is available if you prefer extra relaxation.

5. Recovery and follow-up

Most patients return to normal daily activities within a few days, with postoperative instructions and follow-up appointments through to 12-month follow-up care.
